The BLD75 and BLD75-1 Step Motor Drivers contain Anaheim
Automation driver technology which includes protection against
shorted motors or open motor connections. It has an output current
capability of 10 amps peak (7 amps continuous). If either a short or
open circuit occurs, a Fault LED turns on and the driver shuts down.
Like other stepping motor drivers, the BLD75 series drivers use a
bi-level drive technique. High voltage is applied to rapidly build up
the current in the motor windings and a low voltage is used to
sustain the current. This bi-level drive technique achieves
outstanding motor performance without high frequency switching as
used in chopper drives. Therefore, there are little or no EMI or RFI
problems, and motor heating is greatly reduced.
Note: The BLD75 and BLD75-1 stepper motor drivers replace the
BLD72, BLD72XCE, BLD72-1, and BLD72XCE-1 units. These are exact
replacements for the older models as far as in size and
specifications.
