The K5 series PLCs is comprised of about 20 kinds of CPU modules and expansion modules to meet various applications requirements. CPU modules integrate with a certain number of I/O points on the body. If I/O points are not enough for the application, the user has the ability to connect up to 6 expansion modules with up to 136 points to meet most automation applications. There are various types of I/O points that the K5 series offers, such as high-speed counters, pulse train outputs, pulse width modulation, analog inputs, analog outputs, temperature inputs, and lastly the CANopen communication module. The K5 offers a world of features that can integrate perfectly with Anaheim Automation Stepper Motors, Servo Drives, Brushless Motors, Encoders, Variable Frequency Drives and HMIs. The K5 CPU modules provide a 24VDC power supply for HMIs as well as digital input points.
The K5 series is a cost-effective micro integrated PLC equipped with diverse functions for high performance. The PLC provides special I/O functions (high-speed counters and PTO/PWM output), CANopen master, multiple RS485 ports, integrated analog input and output channels, and more. Equipped with diverse extension modules, Kinco-K5 is capable of meeting the requirements of small devices and process control.

The K5 Digital I/O Modules are offered in multiple different configurations; modules are available with inputs only, outputs only or both inputs and outputs. Their modularity and expandability make them ideal for most applications. The units are available in either sinking or sourcing with either transistor or relay-type outputs. The K5 series is capable of handling up to 136 I/O points. All modules are photo-coupler insulated so that units are not damaged.

The K5 Analog I/O Modules are offered in 2 or 4 channels, allowing for extreme flexibility in a number of different applications. The analog to digital modules are available in a 12-bit resolution, and can output 0 to 10VDC, 1 to 5VDC, 0 to 20mA, or 4-20mA. These modules are ideal for use with Anaheim Automation’s Brushless Drivers, which can take up to a 5VDC signal for speed control.

Control Area Networks (CAN) were created in 1985 for in-vehicle networks to replace point-to-point wiring systems, which resulted in bulky wire harnesses. CAN was adopted quickly as a high-integrity serial bus system and became the standard known as ISO 11898 in 1993. Each device on the network is equipped with a CAN controller chip, and each device sees all the transmitted messages. Each device decides if a message is relevant or if it should be filtered allowing for structure modifications to CAN networks with minimal impact. CAN messages are given priorities so if two nodes try and communicate simultaneously, the one with the higher priority gets transmitted and the one with the lower priority gets postponed. Since CANs introduction it has proven its dependability allowing for integration in a wide variety of applications. CAN is now integrated in railway systems, aerospace applications, medical equipment, lifts and escalators and even non industrial applications such as laboratory equipment, sports camera and even coffee machines.

The PLC-K205 series provides special I/O functions, a Micro USB (USB 2.0) programming port, 4 high-speed counters, 3 high-speed pulse outputs, two RS485 communication ports, integrated digital input and output channels, and more. The high speed counters come in 10 different operation modes, support a single-phase frequency up to 50 KHz, and a dual-phase (A/B phase) frequency up to 50 KHz. In the 10 different modes, each counter has its own inputs for clock, direction control, start and reset, and has a 32-bit present value. The built-in high-speed pulse outputs can reach a maximum frequency of 50 KHz, and support PWM. The free KincoBuilder software provides absolute and relative positioning, homing, jogging, and quick stop instructions. The PLC-K205 series is an ideal hub for data processing with field devices, such as temperature modules, servo drives, field busses and more.

For Program Download: The communication ports on the Kinco PLCs have female DB9 Connectors, which means a USB to RS-232 Converter is needed if your computer does not have a DB9 serial port. A standard RS-232 cable will not work - it is highly recommended to purchase the KNC-HMI-MT54-KC.
