These stepping actuators include long, shielded screws and various nut options which utilize ball bearings to convert the rotary motion created by the motor into smooth linear motion.
Our 08AW, 11AW, 14AW, 17AW, 23AW, 23A, 34AW and 34A series are offered with multiple motor windings and lead screw pitch options. The AW series come in both Non-Captive and External Linear configurations, while the A series models are available only in the Non-Captive style.
With the Non-Captive option, the stepper motor can be held in a fixed position, allowing the lead screw will travel, or by contrast, when the lead screw is fixed, the stepper motor will travel. With the External Linear option the screw is fixed to the motor and the nut will travel along the screw. The AW series provides the option of selecting the length and pitch of the lead screw, while the standard 23A and 34A series come with 6, 12, and 18-inch lead screws, respectively.
